Ottawa

That morning as the sun’s rays passed through my window and I was drinking my morning coffee, I saw that the puzzle was missing on the small table of my happy place. I saw the range of paints and brushes. I hadn’t painted some pictures for months, and on my other table the chess pieces were out of place because the last time I was tired and didn’t pick it up. And all the beauty of this place passed through my mind.

I want to talk to you about Ottawa. Winter is about to end and it brought back to me all the beautiful moments that, in such a short time, I have treasured in my memory. And in the space of my cell phone full of photographs that today I can look at—each one of them has a story. Ottawa is full of experiences, beautiful plants, sunsets and people you don’t know. It has great energy! In winter the smell of snow is super special; although, driving is complicated. The punch, the cookies, and the meetings with family and friends make it cozy. And summer where the colors are vibrant and full of light—being able to enjoy a nice picnic with the smell of barbecues, a day with family and friends, enjoying a swim in the pool. And why not a margarita?

Well, time has been short for everything I’ve learned. I sigh and think about what I left for tomorrow because my time is limited by work. I want to live without getting lost looking at the clock and I want to see the people I love grow so fast because sometimes tiredness is overwhelming. I want to enjoy every day without missing out on the wonderful things this place offers me.
