Tyler walsh

This is Tyler Walsh, a full-time student at IVCC, majoring in Environmental Science. This is his first year working with River Currents as a social manager and editor. He spends his free time practicing and playing out with his band, Happy Hour. After IVCC, he plans to pursue a career with the United States Coast Guard.

Alec DeGroot is a first-year college student who enjoys creating written works and analyzing different forms of art, particularly the writing within shows, movies, games, and books, and what they mean. He is a general editor and contributor for River Currents, and intends to keep up with his interests after IVCC.
jaeda rogers

Jaeda Rogers is currently a student at IVCC, who is studying to get her associate degree in science for pre-vet med. She wishes to pursue her career into becoming a veterinarian. In her free time, she loves to play with her dogs (shown in the picture above), draw, bake/cook, do woodworking, read, write, and take pictures of the beautiful sky! Her most favorite thing of all is to listen to music whenever and wherever she can. She is excited to be a part of River Currents and see how much unique talent everyone has, while contributing to revealing their work for many others to see it as well!

Avi Higgins is a student looking to go into Social Work after IVCC. They enjoy the artistic process and vibrant punchy colors in illustrations. Avi plans on continuing to draw as a hobby and eventually work with some type of nonprofit as a career. They enjoy spending time with their friends outside of work and school and often end up playing games or watching TV shows with them.

Faculty Advisor
Tracy Lee is a member of the English Department at Illinois Valley Community College and the current Union President of the IFT Local 1810 Faculty and Counselor Union. She teaches creative writing, composition, and literature courses in addition to the sincere honor of advising the River Currents organization and student staff. Each and every year, the creativity and passion from River Currents students, staff and contributors, is awe-inspiring and one of the greatest privileges of her position.
